A Victorian home in San Francisco is updated with a new luxury kitchen by Clive Christian | Hungeling Design | Luxury Kitchen Designer

Simplicity in San Francisco

This Victorian home in the Pacific Heights area of San Francisco was completely demolished on the inside to make way for the new homeowners who needed a family friendly space with modern conveniences. In an effort to retain the charm of the original architecture, the homeowners sought out the famous British bespoke cabinet maker, Clive Christian.

The particular challenge of this kitchen remodel involved the extensive living demands placed on the back part of the home. The owners needed a new functional kitchen but the area also had to incorporate a breakfast table, family room, and pantry. These requirements called for creative positioning of the island so that the small breakfast table could be attached to the island in a “T” configuration. This made room for a sofa and chair arrangement in front of the fireplace and tall larder units to serve as the food pantry. The new floor plan provided so much storage that the homeowners then felt that they could afford to give up a little space for a luxury they had always wanted…a Sub Zero wine refrigerator.
