A New Orleans home was remodeled with classic Regency style | Hungeling Design | Luxury Kitchen Designer

New Orleans Regency

This New Orleans home was damaged significantly during Hurricane Katrina. The remodel greatly opened up the kitchen space so that the homeowners were left with a kitchen that was almost too big. Creating functional work zones becomes a priority when kitchens are this large. The island in front of the range featured refrigerator drawers to bridge the distance between the cooking area and the pantry, which housed three large Sub Zeros. An appliance housing keeps the wall oven and microwave elevated so the homeowner can keep an eye on her baking while working at her island. A secondary island serves as an entertainment area with refrigerator drawers, ice maker, and trough sink. Finally, the homeowner’s favorite item was the Tall Crockery Cupboard to the left of the range. Inside, an assortment of glass fronted drawers house a myriad of over-sized cooking and serving vessels. The columned Mayfair Mantle, by Clive Christian, grandly surrounds the range and anchors this large kitchen.
